Bargain Holidays – Saving Time and Money

In today’s economy, bargain holidays that save time and money are what most people are hoping and reaching for. There are still a lot of people that have to live paycheck to paycheck and getting ready for the holidays can be quite stressful. Below are some ideas that may save you time and money and help you have a bargain holiday season.
- Do some of your shopping online. Saves fuel, time and standing in line.
- Prepare meal menus and do chores weeks ahead of time in order to look for bargains.
- Don’t agree to attend every holiday party. It takes time and money for clothes and food.
- Set a budget for food and presents and stick to it.
- If the family is agreeable, draw names for everyone except the children.
- Make homemade gifts. People love them and appreciate them more than bought gifts
- Guy cards and wrapping paper and gift bags at dollar stores.
- Send e-cards to friends and family with email addresses.
I personally make Christmas gifts ever year for my family and then usually buy something small to go along with it. They can’t wait each year to see what I will make. Last year I made knitted neck scarfs. I don’t know how to knit but bought a loom for $10.00 and made them real easy. They looked great.
This year I am making jewelry for them out of polymer clay. I have a friend who is teaching me how. Its fun to do and really lets me use the creative side of my brain.
Whatever you do this year to have your bargain holidays, just remember to think and plan ahead, and you will have a stress free and frugal holiday.
Please feel free to comment with your ideas for saving time and money for the holidays!
