If you have ever raised children yourself, you know that finding good quality baby food is hard to find. We all would like to make our own baby food, but baby ends up eating a lot different items than the rest of the family. Finding the time to cook baby’s food and the rest of the family’s meals can be time consuming and when you are tired, down right overwhelming.

You will need to invest in a good-sized Freezer, canning bottles, and labels. It is also a good idea to invest in natural/organic cleaning products. It is very important that the kitchen you use be free of anything that might contaminate the food. Everything that you use in your kitchen should be cleaned regularly and well. Always be sure to wash your hands thoroughly, wearing food preparation gloves might be a good idea too.  You can start off by doing this for yourself and then telling your friends that have babies.  If they seem eager to buy from you, then you might want to consider continuing own for a business.

You will always need to make sure that your baby food is safe and healthy. When you are working with fruits and vegetables, you will need to thoroughly clean them all. Just because they are organic doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be washed well, even if you aren’t going to be using the skins.

If you decide to also offer foods with eggs or meat, you need to be aware of the required internal temperatures of the meats to be sure that they are thoroughly cooked for safety. When handling the eggs and raw meat it is very important to wash your hands thoroughly after handling them and anything that comes into contact with them before they are cooked. Babies and toddlers need their meats well done.

Once your baby foods are packed away safely in the freezer, it is important that you keep the food at a extremely low temperature. Let the parents know that they should throw any baby food away that has been thawed and in the refrigerator for any longer than 48 hours.
